Private dining and bar, Darlinghurst.
This two-floor project aims to create a stylish and inviting atmosphere for visitors. The lower floor is dedicated to private dining, offering an intimate setting for enjoying fine food. The upper floor features a bar, providing a lively space for socializing and relaxation. Every detail of the interior was crafted with great care to achieve the overall concept.
The clients preferred to avoid ceiling downlights, believing they would harm the atmosphere. However, downlights were necessary for adequate lighting. The low ceiling made pendant lights unsuitable, and the glass walls left no room for wall lights. They also didn't want table lamps. We chose downlights that had a subtle presence and delicate light distribution, differing from typical downlights. With our extensive knowledge of available luminaires, we can select the right lighting for each project.
The client wanted a spotlight effect over each table, which required placing the light source close above the tables. However, since the tables are movable, pendant lights couldn't be used, and the client also preferred not to use table lamps. Instead, we selected a series of downlights, each offering different beam angles and adjustable aiming angles. This solution maintains a consistent look while providing the desired lighting effect and uniform appearance.
The client requested the use of a minimal number of luminaires, so we explored how to effectively illuminate the wall art with the least amount of lighting.
